Favourable weather for the Associate Members Winter Bird Walk. We saw displaying Teals and other waterfowl including Pochard, Tufted Duck, Gadwall, Shoveler, Mute Swan and Great Crested Grebe. A single Redshank was feeding on the Northern Lake. A hunting Kestrel showed well and was seen taking prey on two occasions and the rarest bird of the day was a Blackcap.
Other bird group members looked at other areas of the farmlands and recorded 23 Lapwing, 1 Green Sandpiper, 26 Snipe, 3 Jack Snipe, 3 Water Pipit and 2 Stonechat.
Thanks to all the group members for a pleasant mornings winter birding.
