Welcome to the Beddington Farmlands website

Welcome to the new Beddington Farmlands website! Beddington Farmlands is one of the best-known sites for natural history in Greater London. A long history of sewage irrigation and sewage treatment at Beddington has proven attractive to birds and the ornithological record here dates back over eighty years.

Beddington Farmlands has seen huge changes in land use since the 1800s – ranging from traditional agriculture, sewage treatment and most recently, for landfill. As mitigation for landfill operations, Beddington Farmlands is entering a new phase by being developed into a nature reserve for both wildlife and people. On our website you will be able find out more about this important site, keep up with latest restoration/habitat creation work, and find out the latest bird and wildlife sightings.
